Coffee Extract Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
In July 2023, the average coffee extract import price amounted to $9,919 per ton, growing by 14% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price saw a relatively flat trend pattern. Over the period under review, average import prices reached the maximum at $9,929 per ton in February 2023; afterwards, it flattened through to July 2023.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In July 2023, the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($15,930 per ton), while the price for Egypt ($4,678 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Ecuador (+8.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coffee Extract Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
The average coffee extract export price stood at $5,087 per ton in July 2023, surging by 5.9% against the previous month. Over the period from July 2022 to July 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.2%. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in March 2023 an increase of 13% month-to-month. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $5,847 per ton. From April 2023 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($9,811 per ton), while the average price for exports to Russia ($1,709 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to China (+5.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Coffee Extract Imports in Turkey
After three years of growth, purchases abroad of coffee extracts, essences and concentrates decreased by -11% to 23K tons in 2022. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.9% over the period from 2019 to 2022; the trend pattern remained consistent, with only minor fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by 17% against the previous year.
In value terms, coffee extract imports surged to $174M in 2022. Over the period under review, total imports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +15.9% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +55.6% against 2019 indices. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
