Chicken Egg Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2023
In December 2023, the average chicken egg export price amounted to $2,250 per ton, growing by 14% against the previous month. Over the period from December 2022 to December 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in September 2023 an increase of 15% month-to-month. The export price peaked at $2,438 per ton in April 2023; however, from May 2023 to December 2023, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Iran ($4,614 per ton), while the average price for exports to the United Arab Emirates ($1,631 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Iraq (+3.6%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chicken Egg Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2023
The average chicken egg import price stood at $21,707 per ton in December 2023, surging by 6.8% against the previous month. In general, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in July 2023 an increase of 26% m-o-m. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in December 2023.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In December 2023, the country with the highest price was France ($22,313 per ton), while the price for the UK amounted to $21,639 per ton.
From December 2022 to December 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by France (+3.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Chicken Egg Exports in Turkey
In 2022, the amount of chicken eggs exported from Turkey contracted to 221K tons, almost unchanged from 2021 figures. Over the period under review, exports recorded a deep downturn. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 4.1% against the previous year.
In value terms, chicken egg exports stood at $393M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated strong growth from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +9.8% over the last three years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +53.5% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 with an increase of 46% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
