In July 2023, the average cheese and curd import price amounted to $5,190 per ton, approximately reflecting the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in November 2022 when the average import price increased by 9.2% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $5,486 per ton in December 2022; however, from January 2023 to July 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was Italy ($7,855 per ton), while the price for Serbia ($3,964 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Bosnia and Herzegovina (+2.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average cheese and curd export price stood at $5,546 per ton in July 2023, rising by 2.8% against the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.6%. The growth pace was the most rapid in January 2023 when the average export price increased by 7.9% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure in July 2023.
Average prices varied somewhat for the major export markets. In July 2023, the countries with the highest prices were Germany ($7,059 per ton) and North Macedonia ($6,838 per ton), while the average price for exports to Slovenia ($5,146 per ton) and Bosnia and Herzegovina ($5,723 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Serbia (+3.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Cheese and Curd Imports in Croatia
In 2022, the amount of cheese and curd imported into Croatia expanded slightly to 38K tons, with an increase of 4.7% against the previous year's figure.
