Catheter and Cannula Price in Lithuania (FOB) - 2022

In 2022, the average catheter and cannula export price amounted to $0.6 per unit, surging by 2.7% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, continues to indicate a noticeable shrinkage. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 when the average export price increased by 44%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1 per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($1.2 per unit), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($0.4 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Latvia (+14.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Catheter and Cannula Price in Lithuania (CIF) - 2023

The average catheter and cannula import price stood at $236 per thousand units in September 2023, dropping by -7.7% against the previous month. In general, import price indicated a noticeable increase from September 2022 to September 2023: its price increased at an average monthly rate of +3.2% over the last twelve months. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on September 2023 figures, catheter and cannula import price decreased by -35.5% against July 2023 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2023 an increase of 68% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $366 per thousand units in July 2023; however, from August 2023 to September 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In September 2023, the country with the highest price was Germany ($1.1 per unit), while the price for China ($48.0 per thousand units) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to September 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Germany (+6.1%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Catheter and Cannula Exports in Lithuania

After three years of growth, shipments abroad of catheters and cannulae decreased by -21.9% to 49M units in 2022. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 118%. As a result, the exports attained the peak of 63M units, and then fell notably in the following year.

In value terms, catheter and cannula exports shrank markedly to $27M in 2022. In general, total exports indicated a remarkable increase from 2019 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +14.7% over the last three-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +51.1% against 2019 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 66% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $34M, and then declined rapidly in the following year.
