Bus Price in New Zealand (CIF) - 2023

The average bus import price stood at $29,396 per unit in August 2023, picking up by 38% against the previous month. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a deep contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in May 2023 an increase of 426% m-o-m. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $119K per unit. From June 2023 to August 2023, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In August 2023, the country with the highest price was China ($217K per unit), while the price for Turkey ($89,266 per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From September 2022 to August 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Japan (+2.7%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average bus export price amounted to $70,248 per unit, rising by 26% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate slight growth. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when the average export price increased by 162% against the previous year. The export price peaked in 2022 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Australia ($72,360 per unit), while the average price for exports to Niue ($20,289 per unit) was amongst the lowest.
