Broken Rice Price in Bangladesh (CIF) - 2022
The average broken rice import price stood at $462 per ton in 2022, picking up by 14% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price, however, saw a perceptible downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when the average import price increased by 54% against the previous year. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure at $609 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Myanmar ($1,662 per ton), while the price for Pakistan ($267 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Myanmar (+11.4%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In 2022, the average broken rice export price amounted to $848 per ton, shrinking by -36.3% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price continues to indicate a pronounced shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 an increase of 106% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the average export prices attained the peak figure at $1,331 per ton in 2021, and then dropped markedly in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($1,257 per ton), while the average price for exports to Canada ($80 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
