Bigeye Tuna Price in Japan (CIF) - 2023
The average bigeye tuna import price stood at $5,243 per ton in July 2023, which is down by -7.4% against the previous month. In general, the import price recorded a perceptible contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2022 an increase of 5.1% against the previous month. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $7,920 per ton. From January 2023 to July 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of origin: the country with the highest price was South Korea ($5,803 per ton), while the price for Micronesia ($2,263 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mauritius (+6.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.
