The average import price for vegetables (uncooked or cooked by steaming or boiling in water); frozen stood at $1,451 per ton in January 2024, flattening at the previous month. Over the last twelve months, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.1%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in December 2023 when the average import price increased by 13% month-to-month. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs in January 2024.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2024, the highest price was recorded for prices from Spain ($1,769 per ton) and Portugal ($1,525 per ton), while the price for Belgium ($1,277 per ton) and Poland ($1,358 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
