Aromatic Monoamines Price in Canada (CIF) - 2022
The average aromatic monoamines import price stood at $5,100 per ton in 2022, reducing by -7.6% against the previous year. Overall, import price indicated measured growth from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, aromatic monoamines import price increased by +32.5% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 an increase of 43%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $5,521 per ton, and then fell in the following year.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($11,773 per ton), while the price for the United States ($2,879 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+1.8%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced a decline.

In June 2023, the average aromatic monoamines export price amounted to $2,258 per ton, waning by -24.6% against the previous month. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a pronounced reduction. The growth pace was the most rapid in April 2023 when the average export price increased by 78% month-to-month. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $5,031 per ton. From May 2023 to June 2023, the the average export prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was the United States ($22,179 per ton), while the average price for exports to Japan ($1,845 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From June 2022 to June 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+6.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Aromatic Monoamines Imports in Canada
In 2022, purchases abroad of other aromatic monoamines and their derivatives, salts thereof was finally on the rise to reach 8.9K tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a two-year declining trend. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable contraction.
In value terms, aromatic monoamines imports expanded markedly to $45M in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a noticeable contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when imports increased by 37% against the previous year.
