Apricot Price in Turkey (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average apricot export price amounted to $1,013 per ton, rising by 15% against the previous year. Over the period under review, export price indicated a measured expansion from 2012 to 2022: its price increased at an average annual rate of +3.2% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, apricot export price increased by +74.8% against 2018 indices. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 38% against the previous year. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $1,020 per ton; afterwards, it flattened through to 2022.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,432 per ton), while the average price for exports to Syrian Arab Republic ($117 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Saudi Arabia (+4.7%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.
Apricot Price in Turkey (CIF) - 2022
The average apricot import price stood at $2,129 per ton in 2022, growing by 34% against the previous year. Overall, the import price continues to indicate a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when the average import price increased by 87%. Over the period under review, average import prices attained the peak figure in 2022 and is likely to see gradual growth in the near future.
Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Germany ($2,708 per ton), while the price for Russia ($2,041 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iraq (+38.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Apricot Exports in Turkey
For the fourth consecutive year, Turkey recorded growth in shipments abroad of apricots, which increased by 17% to 81K tons in 2022. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +14.7% over the period from 2019 to 2022; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of 20% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.
In value terms, apricot exports skyrocketed to $83M in 2022. Over the period under review, exports enjoyed a significant expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 46% against the previous year. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

Apricot Imports in Turkey
In 2022, overseas purchases of apricots decreased by -48.5% to 31 tons, falling for the second consecutive year after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports saw a dramatic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 35% against the previous year. As a result, imports attained the peak of 129 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, apricot imports fell remarkably to $67K in 2022. In general, imports showed a deep contraction. The smallest decline of -9.5% was in 2020.
