Aniline Price in Canada (FOB) - 2022
In 2022, the average aniline export price amounted to $871 per ton, which is down by -31.4% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price recorded a dramatic contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 an increase of 20%. The export price peaked at $10,369 per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major overseas markets. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the highest price was recorded for prices to the UK ($885 per ton) and Sweden ($880 per ton), while the average price for exports to South Korea ($862 per ton) and China ($864 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Japan (-0.9%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.
Aniline Price in Canada (CIF) - 2022
In 2022, the average aniline import price amounted to $37,549 per ton, reducing by -1.6% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when the average import price increased by 868%. Over the period under review, average import prices hit record highs at $38,639 per ton in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, import prices remained at a lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably amongst the major supplying countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the highest price was recorded for prices from Belgium ($41,415 per ton) and China ($40,299 per ton), while the price for the United States ($37,291 per ton) and India ($37,296 per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+79.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.
Aniline Exports in Canada
For the fourth year in a row, Canada recorded growth in shipments abroad of aniline and its salts (excluding derivatives), which increased by 19% to 65 tons in 2022. Overall, exports showed significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 106%. The exports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, aniline exports declined rapidly to $57K in 2022. In general, exports continue to indicate a significant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 126% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $70K, and then dropped significantly in the following year.
