Aluminium Wire Price in Russia (FOB) - 2022

The average aluminium wire export price stood at $2,193 per ton in January 2022, which is down by -13.6% against the previous month. Over the period from January 2021 to January 2022, it increased at an average monthly rate of +2.9%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in February 2021 when the average export price increased by 36% m-o-m. The export price peaked at $2,609 per ton in November 2021; however, from December 2021 to January 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices for the major export markets. In January 2022, the country with the highest price was Ukraine ($3,191 per ton), while the average price for exports to the Netherlands ($1,585 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From January 2021 to January 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+5.8%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average aluminium wire import price stood at $3,788 per ton in 2022, falling by -6.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2013 when the average import price increased by 15% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $4,479 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Poland ($8,830 per ton), while the price for Belarus ($1,293 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Poland (+11.2%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced mixed trend patterns.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +28.7% against 2020 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2021 when exports increased by 57%. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $500M, and then reduced remarkably in the following year.
