Aluminium Wire Price in Pakistan (CIF) - 2023

In February 2023, the average aluminium wire import price amounted to $4,851 per ton, rising by 14% against the previous month. Over the period from February 2022 to February 2023, it increased at an average monthly rate of +1.3%. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in April 2022 when the average import price increased by 41% against the previous month. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $5,939 per ton. From May 2022 to February 2023, the average import prices remained at a lower figure.

Average prices varied somewhat amongst the major supplying countries. In February 2023, the country with the highest price was Indonesia ($5,003 per ton), while the price for Oman ($3,740 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From February 2022 to February 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Malaysia (+16.6%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

The average aluminium wire export price stood at $3,831 per ton in 2022, surging by 15% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, recorded a noticeable setback. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 an increase of 124%. As a result, the export price attained the peak level of $11,061 per ton. From 2014 to 2022, the average export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the United States ($18,503 per ton), while the average price for exports to Bahrain ($849 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to the United States (+8.4%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced mixed trend patterns.

The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +38.0% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when imports increased by 76%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $7M, and then contracted sharply in the following year.
