WTO High-Level Cotton Event in Cameroon Precedes Ministerial Conference

According to the WTO, a significant event focused on cotton will take place in Yaounde, Cameroon, on March 25, ahead of a major ministerial conference. The event is organized by the WTO Secretariat in cooperation with several international bodies, including UNIDO, ITC, ILO, and FIFA. A central activity will be the introduction of the Partenariat pour le Coton Investment Platform, which will outline investment prospects and detail strategic partnerships planned for the period from 2026 to 2030. A high-level panel will argue that West and Central Africa is prepared for investment, with speakers from Benin's trade ministry, the African Development Bank, Afreximbank, the International Islamic Trade Finance Corporation, the Bank of Industry of Nigeria, and Scan Thor participating.

Representatives from FIFA and notable Cameroonian football figures will present new tee-shirts and polo shirts manufactured in Benin for the FIFA Football for Schools program. This delivery of a large quantity of jerseys marks a key point in the cooperation between FIFA and the PPC.
