Which Country Imports the Most Mandarins and Clementines in the World?

Global mandarin and clementine imports amounted to 4,264 thousand tonnes in 2015, reducing by -1.6% against the previous year level. Overall, the global mandarin and clementine imports indicated a pronounced growth from 2007 to 2015. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +2.6% over the last eight years.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when the output figure increased by +8% from the previous year level. Over the period under review, the global mandarin and clementine imports attained its maximum volume of 4,333 thousand tonnes in 2014, falling back in the following year.

In value terms, global mandarin and clementine imports amounted to $4,338 million in 2015. Overall, the value of global mandarin and clementine imports increased robustly from 2007 to 2015, expanding at an average annual rate of +4.0%. This trend pattern, however, indicated relatively mild fluctuations throughout the analyzed period.

Mandarin and Clementine Imports By Country

The countries with the highest levels of the mandarin and clementine imports in 2015 were Russia (769 thousand tonnes), Germany (400 thousand tonnes), France (351 thousand tonnes), together accounting for 36% of total imports.

From 2007 to 2015, the most notable growth rates of mandarin and clementine imports among the main importing countries was attained by the United States (+8.8% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Russia (612 million USD), Germany (425 million USD) and France (415 million USD) were the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2015, together accounting for 33% of total imports.

Russia (+7.2% per year) had the highest growth rates of mandarin and clementine imports among the main importing countries over the last eight years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
