Stainless Steel Angle Imports By Country

The imports of the three major importers of stainless steel angle, namely India, Italy, and Germany, represented more than third of total import. Spain (147K tonnes) ranks second globally in stainless steel angle imports with a 6% share, following the U.S. (5%). France (98K tonnes), China (78K tonnes), Japan (68K tonnes), South Korea (56K tonnes), Ukraine (55K tonnes), the UK (50K tonnes), and Turkey (44K tonnes) followed a long way behind this figure.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of stainless steel angle imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by South Korea (+2.8% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($636M), the U.S. ($478M) and Italy ($246M) appeared as the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, together accounting for 30% of global imports.China, the UK, France, South Korea, Turkey, Spain, India, Japan and Ukraine lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 23%.

Japan (+2.7% per year) experienced the highest growth rate of stainless steel angle imports, among the main importing countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced mixed trends in the imports figures.

Stainless Steel Angle Import Prices By Country

In 2016, the average import price for stainless steel angle amounted to $1,889 per tonne, declining by ;12.7% against the previous year. In general, stainless steel angle import price continues to indicate a significant shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2010, when import price increased by 39% against the previous year level. Over the period under review, average stainless steel angle import price attained its maximum level of $2,977 per tonne in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was the U.S. ($3,831 per tonne), while India ($218 per tonne) was among the lowest.

Antibiotic Imports By Country

In 2016, India (24K tonnes), distantly followed by Spain (7.4K tonnes), and Italy (6.5K tonnes) were the main importers of antibiotic, together creating 31% of total imports. The following importers - Brazil (4.9K tonnes), Thailand (4.5K tonnes), the UK (4.4K tonnes), Canada (4.2K tonnes), Indonesia (3.9K tonnes), the Netherlands (3.5K tonnes), Australia (2.8K tonnes), France (2.8K tonnes), and Malaysia (2.7K tonnes) together made up 27% of total imports.

India experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, Canada (+9.0%), Thailand (+8.6%), Spain (+7.9%), Indonesia (+3.9%), and Australia (+1.3%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Canada emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +9.0% from 2007-2016. Italy experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, France (-1.6%), Brazil (-2.1%), Malaysia (-2.4%), the UK (-2.7%), and the Netherlands (-9.7%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. The Netherlands (4%) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global imports, while Canada, Thailand, and Spain saw its share reduced by -1.9%, -1.9%, and -3.0% from 2007 to 2016, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In 2016, the average import price for antibiotic amounted to $92 per kg, increasing by 15% against the previous year. Over the period from 2007 to 2016 it increased at an average annual rate of +1.7%.The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, an increase of 17% against the previous year level. Over the period under review, average antibiotic import price reached its maximum level of $98 per kg in 2013- however, from 2014 to 2016, it failed to regain its strength.

Import prices varied noticeably by country of destination. the country with the highest import prices was France ($323 per kg), while Malaysia ($17 per kg) was among the lowest.
