Antibiotic Price in Poland (CIF) - 2022

In 2021, the average antibiotic import price amounted to $76,020 per ton, increasing by 5.1% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +4.2%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when the average import price increased by 16% against the previous year. As a result, import price attained the peak level of $76,746 per ton. From 2020 to 2021, the average import prices remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($316,200 per ton), while the price for Austria ($28,145 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China (+27.5%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Antibiotic Price in Poland (FOB) - 2023

The average antibiotic export price stood at $93,003 per ton in July 2023, declining by -67.8% against the previous month. Overall, the export price, however, recorded a remarkable increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in August 2022 when the average export price increased by 1,110% m-o-m. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $507K per ton. From September 2022 to July 2023, the the average export prices remained at a lower figure.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Russia ($1.4M per ton), while the average price for exports to Belarus ($37,267 per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From July 2022 to July 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Ukraine (+12.3%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Antibiotic Imports in Poland

In 2022, purchases abroad of antibiotics decreased by -14.3% to 308 tons, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. Over the period under review, imports showed a perceptible curtailment. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2020 when imports increased by 35%. As a result, imports attained the peak of 454 tons. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, antibiotic imports reduced to $25M in 2022. In general, imports recorded a mild contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when imports increased by 27%. As a result, imports attained the peak of $33M. From 2021 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
