Iron Angle Imports By Country

The imports of the twelve major importers of iron angle, namely China, Spain, Turkey, Luxembourg, Germany, Ukraine, South Korea, Italy, Japan, the U.S., Poland, and France, represented more than half of total import.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of iron angle imports, among the main importing countries, was attained by Luxembourg (+1.5% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($730M), the U.S. ($691M) and France ($544M) appeared as the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2016, with a combined 17% share of global imports.

The U.S. (-1.4% per year) had the highest rates of growth with regard to the iron angle imports, in terms of the main importing countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

Iron Angle Import Prices By Country

The average iron angle import price stood at $324 per tonne in 2016, going down by -13.1% against the previous year. In general, iron angle import price continues to indicate a deep reduction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011, when import increased by 22% y-o-y. Over the period under review, average iron angle import price attained its maximum level of $598 per tonne in 2008- however, from 2009 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst major importing countries. In 2016, the country with the highest import prices was the U.S. ($715 per tonne), while Luxembourg ($12 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of iron angle import prices was attained by the U.S. (-1.2% per year), while the other global leaders experienced a decline in the import price figures.
