Cotton Fabric Imports By Country
In 2016, China (X tonnes) represented the main importer for cotton fabric, committing X% of total imports. It was distantly followed by Pakistan (X tonnes), constituting X% share of total cotton fabric imports. The Dominican Republic (X tonnes), India (X tonnes), Bangladesh (X tonnes), Italy (X tonnes), the U.S. (X tonnes), South Korea (X tonnes), Indonesia (X tonnes), and Viet Nam (X tonnes) held the slight share of total imports.
China experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. At the same time, Bangladesh (+X%), Viet Nam (+X%), Pakistan (+X%), and the Dominican Republic (+X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Bangladesh emerged as the fastest growing importer/exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2016. India, and Indonesia experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. By contrast, South Korea (-X%), the U.S. (-X%), and Italy (-X%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. While the share of China (X%), and Italy (X%) increased significantly, the share of Pakistan (-X%), and Bangladesh (-X%) displayed negative dynamics. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, Bangladesh ($X) constitutes the largest market for imported cotton fabric worldwide, making up X% of global imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Viet Nam ($X), with the share of X% of global imports. It was followed by the U.S., with the share of X%.
In Bangladesh, cotton fabric imports expanded at an average annual rate of +X% over the period from 2007-2016. The remaining importing countries recorded the following average annual rates: Viet Nam (+X% per year) and the U.S. (-X% per year).
Cotton Fabric Import Prices By Country
In 2016, the average import price for cotton fabric amounted to $X per tonne, going down by -X% against the previous year. Over the last nine years it increased at an average annual rate of +X pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2011, when it surged by X% y-o-y. In that year, average cotton fabric import price attained its maximum level of $X per tonne. From 2012 to 2016, growth of average cotton fabric import price stood at a somewhat lower level.
