In 2016, the global amino resin exports amounted to 7.9M tonnes, moving up by 2% against the previous year level. The total export volume increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the period from 2007 to 2016; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations in certain years. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2010, when exports increased by 20% y-o-y. Global amino resin export peaked in 2016, and are likely to see steady growth in the near future.

In value terms, amino resin exports stood at $14B in 2016. Overall, it indicated a moderate increase from 2007 to 2016: the total exports value increased at an average annual rate of +3.1% over the last nine years. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations throughout the analyzed period. Based on the result of 2016, amino resin exports decreased by -18.1% against its level of 2014. Over the period under review, global amino resin exports reached its maximum level of $17B in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

Amino Resin Exports By Country

In 2016, Germany (1.3M tonnes), Belgium (946K tonnes), China (745K tonnes), the U.S. (634K tonnes), the Netherlands (620K tonnes), Poland (465K tonnes), South Korea (345K tonnes), Japan (308K tonnes), Italy (284K tonnes), Spain (247K tonnes), Portugal (243K tonnes), and Hungary (206K tonnes) were the major exporters of amino resin in the world, comprising 80% of total export.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of amino resin exports, among the main exporting countries, was attained by South Korea (+24.7% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest amino resin markets worldwide were Germany ($2.5B), the U.S. ($1.6B) and Belgium ($1.2B), with a combined 40% share of global exports. These countries were followed by China, the Netherlands, Japan, South Korea, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Hungary and Poland, which together accounted for a further 41%.

South Korea (+19.7% per year) recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the amino resin exports, among the main exporting countries, over the last 9 years, while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Amino Resin Export Prices By Country

In 2016, the average export price for amino resin amounted to $1,713 per tonne, shrinking by -5.5% against the previous year. Overall, amino resin export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, when export price increased by 15% y-o-y. Global amino resin export peaked of $2,212 per tonne in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2016, it stood at a somewhat lower level.

There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst major exporting countries. In 2016, the country with the highest export prices was the U.S. ($2,529 per tonne), while Poland ($392 per tonne) was among the lowest.

From 2007 to 2016, the most notable growth rate of amino resin export prices was attained by Italy (+4.7% per year), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
