In 2018, the vinegar export price in the European Union amounted to $X per thousand litres, going up by X% against the previous year. In general, the vinegar export price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. There were significant differences in the average export prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2018, the country with the highest export price was Italy ($X per thousand litres), while the Czech Republic ($X per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of export prices was attained by Spain, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Imports in the EU

The imports stood at X litres in 2018, growing by X% against the previous year. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2007 to 2018; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded over the period under review. In value terms, vinegar imports totaled $X (IndexBox estimates) in 2018.

Imports by Country

Germany (X litres) and Italy (X litres) represented roughly X% of total imports of vinegar in 2018. The UK (X litres) held a X% share (based on tonnes) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by France (X%), the Netherlands (X%) and Hungary (X%). In 2018, the vinegar import price in the European Union amounted to $X per thousand litres, jumping by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the vinegar import price continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018, an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, the import prices for vinegar attained their peak figure at $X per thousand litres in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2018, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average import prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2018, the country with the highest import price was France ($X per thousand litres), while Hungary ($X per thousand litres) was amongst the lowest.
