Portland Grain Markets Show Mixed Movements on March 12

According to a USDA AMS MyMarketNews report, grain bids in Pacific ports showed varied price adjustments on March 12. For US #1 Hard Red Winter Wheat, bids for current delivery with 11.0% protein were between 6.6650 and 6.7650 dollars per bushel, representing an increase of 0.1300. Bids for the same wheat type with 11.5% protein for current delivery ranged from 6.7650 to 6.8650, also up by 0.1300. Prices for deliveries scheduled for April, May, June, and July also saw increases. Higher protein levels in Hard Red Winter Wheat, such as 12.0% and 13.0%, similarly registered price gains of 0.1300 for current delivery.

US #1 Soft White Wheat for current delivery at 10.5% protein had a bid range of 6.2000 to 6.2500, with the upper end rising by 0.0500. For US #1 NS/DNS Wheat with 13.0% protein, current delivery bids were between 6.8700 and 6.9900, up 0.0700. Higher protein levels of 14.0%, 15.0%, and 16.0% in this wheat category also showed price increases of 0.0700 for current delivery, with some variations for future months. In contrast, US #1 Club White Wheat bids for current delivery remained unchanged, and US #2 Heavy White Oats also showed no change from the previous day. The report noted nineteen grain vessels were in Columbia River ports on the prior day, with five docked.
