Exports from Pakistan
In 2019, approx. X tons of wheat were exported from Pakistan; falling by X% compared with the previous year's figure. Overall, exports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2018 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of X tons, and then declined markedly in the following year.
In value terms, wheat exports shrank significantly to $X in 2019. Over the period under review, exports, however, posted prominent growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports attained the peak of $X, and then fell dramatically in the following year.
Exports by Country
The United Arab Emirates (X tons), Indonesia (X tons) and Oman (X tons) were the main destinations of wheat exports from Pakistan, with a combined X% share of total exports. Sri Lanka, Afghanistan, Malaysia and Qatar lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.
From 2012 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Qatar (with a CAGR of X%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, the largest markets for wheat exported from Pakistan were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Indonesia ($X) and Sri Lanka ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. Oman, Afghanistan, Malaysia and Qatar lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Over the period under review, the average export prices reached the peak figure at $X per ton in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2019, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
Average prices varied noticeably for the major export markets. In 2019, amid the top suppliers, the countries with the highest prices were Sri Lanka ($X per ton) and Indonesia ($X per ton), while the average price for exports to Oman ($X per ton) and Afghanistan ($X per ton) were amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2019, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Oman (X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Imports into Pakistan
Wheat imports into Pakistan dropped to X tons in 2022, which is down by X% on 2021. In general, imports, however, showed significant growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, wheat imports surged to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.
Imports by Country
Russia (X tons), Ukraine (X tons) and Romania (X tons) were the main suppliers of wheat imports to Pakistan, together accounting for X% of total imports. France, Bulgaria, Brazil and Australia lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X%.
