Netherlands Dried Grapes Import Price in January 2023
In January 2023, the dried grapes price stood at $2,101 per ton, therefore (CIF, Netherlands), remained relatively stable against the previous month. Over the period under review, the import price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in April 2022 when the average import price increased by 8.6% m-o-m. The import price peaked at $2,213 per ton in August 2022; however, from September 2022 to January 2023, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In January 2023, the country with the highest price was Greece ($2,547 per ton), while the price for China ($1,302 per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From January 2022 to January 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (+1.3%), while the prices for the other major suppliers experienced more modest paces of growth.

Netherlands Dried Grapes Imports
In January 2023, purchases abroad of dried grapes decreased by -11.6% to 3.8K tons, falling for the second consecutive month after five months of growth. Over the period under review, imports recorded a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in March 2022 when imports increased by 51% month-to-month.
In value terms, dried grapes imports dropped to $8.1M (IndexBox estimates) in January 2023. Overall, imports recorded a slight downturn. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in March 2022 with an increase of 45% m-o-m.
Netherlands Dried Grapes Imports by Country
In January 2023, Turkey (2K tons) constituted the largest supplier of dried grapes to the Netherlands, accounting for a 53% share of total imports. Moreover, dried grapes imports from Turkey exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Greece (471 tons), fourfold. Chile (470 tons) ranked third in terms of total imports with a 12% share.
From January 2022 to January 2023, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of volume from Turkey amounted to -2.6%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Greece (+8.4% per month) and Chile (+4.7% per month).
In value terms, Turkey ($4M) constituted the largest supplier of dried grapes to the Netherlands, comprising 50% of total imports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Greece ($1.2M), with a 15% share of total imports. It was followed by Chile, with a 14% share.
From January 2022 to January 2023, the average monthly rate of growth in terms of value from Turkey totaled -2.2%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average monthly rates of imports growth: Greece (+8.1% per month) and Chile (+5.8% per month).
