Brazil's Dried Prune Prices Reach New High Amid Decreased Production and Soaring Transportation Costs

Brazil's dried prune prices have surged to a new high. The reasons behind the dramatic price increase are manifold. Firstly, Brazil has experienced an unusually dry summer, which has led to a significant decrease in prune production. This has heightened demand for the fruit, resulting in price increases across the board.

On top of this, transportation costs have also soared, crimping profit margins for producers and exacerbating the price increase. New tariffs and regulations in the U.S., a key export market for Brazilian prunes, have also taken a toll. It remains to be seen how the market will react in the coming months, but industry insiders anticipate continued volatility and price increases.
