At the same time, Nigeria (+46.6%), Mali (+40.3%), Benin (+16.7%) and Ghana (+1.8%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Nigeria emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +46.6% from 2012-2021. While the share of Mali (+19 p.p.), Nigeria (+7 p.p.) and Benin (+1.7 p.p.) increased significantly in terms of the global exports from 2012-2021, the share of Burkina Faso (-14 p.p.) and Ghana (-14.1 p.p.) displayed negative dynamics.
In value terms, the largest karite (shea) nuts supplying countries worldwide were Burkina Faso ($X), Ghana ($X) and Benin ($X), together comprising 85% of global exports. These countries were followed by Mali and Nigeria, which together accounted for a further 14%.
Nigeria, with a CAGR of +37.1%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
