As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

Over the period under review, total exports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +5.6% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, exports increased by +27.8% against 2020 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2021 when exports increased by 17%. Over the period under review, the global exports attained the peak figure in 2022 and are likely to see gradual growth in the immediate term.

China represented the major exporting country with an export of about X tons, which accounted for 36% of total exports. Germany (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an 8.5% share, followed by the United States (7.3%), the Netherlands (7.2%) and Japan (7%). Spain (X tons), Italy (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Hungary (X tons), the UK (X tons) and France (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.
Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +9.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Hungary (+16.0%), the Netherlands (+14.2%), Belgium (+7.4%), Italy (+6.8%), France (+3.8%), Germany (+2.6%) and Japan (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hungary emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +16.0% from 2012-2022. The United States, Spain and the UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. China (+13 p.p.) and the Netherlands (+4.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while the UK, Spain, Japan, Germany and the United States saw its share reduced by -1.7%, -1.8%, -1.9%, -2.1% and -3.9% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.
In value terms, China ($X), the United States ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 40% share of global exports. Japan, the Netherlands, the UK, Belgium, Hungary, France, Italy and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 39%.
In terms of the main exporting countries, the Netherlands, with a CAGR of +20.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
Export Prices by Country
In 2022, the average adhesive bandage export price amounted to $X per ton, waning by -9.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 10%. The global export price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was the UK ($X per ton), while China ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United States (+5.9%), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In general, total imports indicated a buoyant expansion from 2012 to 2022: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +5.8% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +18.5% against 2013 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 48%. Global imports peaked in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the near future.
In value terms, adhesive bandage imports amounted to $X in 2022. Overall, total imports indicated buoyant growth from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +6.3% over the last decade. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2022 figures, imports increased by +67.9% against 2015 indices. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 18%. Over the period under review, global imports reached the maximum in 2022 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

In 2022, the United States (X tons), distantly followed by Germany (X tons), the Netherlands (X tons), the UK (X tons) and France (X tons) were the main importers of adhesive bandages, together committing 42% of total imports. Belgium (X tons), Spain (X tons), South Korea (X tons), Italy (X tons), Nigeria (X tons), Mexico (X tons), China (X tons) and Malaysia (X tons) held a relatively small share of total imports.

In value terms, the largest adhesive bandage importing markets worldwide were the United States ($X), Germany ($X) and the Netherlands ($X), with a combined 35% share of global imports. The UK, France, China, Belgium, Spain, Mexico, Italy, South Korea, Malaysia and Nigeria lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further 31%.
Nigeria, with a CAGR of +26.6%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of imports, in terms of the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average adhesive bandage import price amounted to $X per ton, which is down by -4.4% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the average import price increased by 51%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per ton. From 2015 to 2022, the average import prices failed to regain momentum.
Prices varied noticeably by country of destination: amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was China ($X per ton), while Nigeria ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Mexico (+12.5%), while the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
