Germany (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an 8.5% share, followed by the United States (7.3%), the Netherlands (7.2%) and Japan (7%). Spain (X tons), Italy (X tons), Belgium (X tons), Hungary (X tons), the UK (X tons) and France (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from China increased at an average annual rate of +9.7% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Hungary (+16.0%), the Netherlands (+14.2%), Belgium (+7.4%), Italy (+6.8%), France (+3.8%), Germany (+2.6%) and Japan (+2.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Hungary emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in the world, with a CAGR of +16.0% from 2012-2022. The United States, Spain and the UK experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. China (+13 p.p.) and the Netherlands (+4.1 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while the UK, Spain, Japan, Germany and the United States saw its share reduced by -1.7%, -1.8%, -1.9%, -2.1% and -3.9% from 2012 to 2022, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, China ($X), the United States ($X) and Germany ($X) constituted the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, with a combined 40% share of global exports. Japan, the Netherlands, the UK, Belgium, Hungary, France, Italy and Spain lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further 39%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, the Netherlands, with a CAGR of +20.9%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other global leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2022, the average adhesive bandage export price amounted to $X per ton, waning by -9.1% against the previous year. In general, the export price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 when the average export price increased by 10%. The global export price peaked at $X per ton in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2022, the export prices remained at a lower figure.
