From 2014 to 2021, the growth imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, construction sands imports surged to $X in 2021. Overall, imports posted significant growth. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2013 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
Imports by Country
In 2021, Brazil (X tons) was the main construction sands supplier to Uruguay, accounting for a X% share of total imports. Moreover, construction sands imports from Brazil exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, China (X kg), more than tenfold.
From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Brazil totaled +X%.
In value terms, China ($X) and Brazil ($X) were the largest construction sands suppliers to Uruguay.
