Market Size for Natural Rubber And Gums in Spain

The Spanish natural rubber and gum market was finally on the rise to reach $X in 2020, after three years of decline. Over the period under review, consumption, however, recorded a perceptible decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Exports peaked at X tonnes in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

In value terms, natural rubber and gum exports shrank slightly to $X in 2020. In general, exports, however, continue to indicate a drastic downturn. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 with an increase of X% against the previous year. As a result, exports attained the peak of $X. from 2012 to 2020, the growth exports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Exports by Country

Morocco (X tonnes), France (X tonnes) and Italy (X tonnes) were the main destinations of natural rubber and gum exports from Spain, together accounting for X% of total exports. Portugal, Algeria and the U.S. lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by the U.S., while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest markets for natural rubber and gum exported from Spain were Morocco ($X), France ($X) and Italy ($X), together comprising X% of total exports. These countries were followed by Algeria, Portugal and the U.S., which together accounted for a further X saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main countries of destination over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Algeria, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

Natural rubber and gum imports into Spain skyrocketed to X tonnes in 2020, surging by X% compared with the previous year. Over the period under review, imports, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2012 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at X tonnes in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2020, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
