Indonesia (X units) and Thailand (X units) represented roughly 64% of total exports in 2021. Malaysia (X units) held an 18% share (based on physical terms) of total exports, which put it in second place, followed by Vietnam (9.3%) and Singapore (7.4%).
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the leading exporting countries, was attained by Malaysia (with a CAGR of -2.4%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.
In value terms, the largest agricultural appliance supplying countries in South-Eastern Asia were Singapore ($X), Malaysia ($X) and Thailand ($X), with a combined 89% share of total exports.
Singapore, with a CAGR of -9.3%, saw the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced a decline in the exports figures.

In 2021, the export price in South-Eastern Asia amounted to $X per unit, with a decrease of -6.7% against the previous year. Export price indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2021: its price increased at an average annual rate of +2.4% over the last nine-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2015 with an increase of 25% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports attained the peak figure at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.
In value terms, agricultural appliance imports rose modestly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a deep setback. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 11%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.
Imports by Country
Thailand (X units), Indonesia (X units) and Vietnam (X units) represented roughly 77% of total imports in 2021. Malaysia (X units) took an 8.1% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Cambodia (7.2%) and Singapore (4.9%).
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Singapore (with a CAGR of +1.0%), while imports for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
In value terms, Malaysia ($X), Thailand ($X) and Indonesia ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2021, with a combined 64% share of total imports.
In terms of the main importing countries, Malaysia, with a CAGR of -9.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.
Import Prices by Country
The import price in South-Eastern Asia stood at $X per unit in 2021, with a decrease of -10.4% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a measured expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 114% against the previous year. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2019 to 2021, the import prices failed to regain momentum.
There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, the country with the highest price was Malaysia ($X per unit), while Cambodia ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
