In 2022, shipments abroad of ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures decreased by X% to X units, falling for the second year in a row after two years of growth. In 2022, Tanzania (X units) represented the largest exporter of ceramic sinks, baths, water closet pans and similar sanitary fixtures, generating X% of total exports. South Africa (X units) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a X% share, followed by Zambia (X%). Namibia (X units), Mauritius (X units), Botswana (X units) and Mozambique (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

Exports from Tanzania decreased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2022. At the same time, Mozambique (X%) and Zambia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. In value terms, the largest ceramic sanitary ware supplying countries in SADC were Tanzania ($X), South Africa ($X) and Zambia ($X), with a combined X% share of total exports. Namibia, Mozambique, Mauritius and Botswana lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

In terms of the main exporting countries, Mozambique, with a CAGR of X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

In 2022, the export price in SADC amounted to $X per unit, surging by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price, however, showed a perceptible downturn. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the maximum at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, the export prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
