Bulgaria (X units), Hungary (X units) and the Netherlands (X units) were the main destinations of watch exports from Romania, with a combined X% share of total exports. These countries were followed by Italy, France, Saudi Arabia, Austria, Spain, the Czech Republic, Moldova, Germany, Switzerland and Poland, which together accounted for a further X 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were in Saudi Arabia (with a CAGR of +X%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
In value terms, Italy ($X), Bulgaria ($X) and Switzerland ($X) constituted the largest markets for watch exported from Romania worldwide, together comprising X% of total exports. Austria, Germany, the Netherlands, France, Hungary, Saudi Arabia, the Czech Republic, Poland, Spain and Moldova lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X the main countries of destination, Austria, with a CAGR of +X%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination: the country with the highest price was Switzerland ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Moldova ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.
From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Italy (+X%), while the prices for the other major destinations experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, overseas purchases of watches were finally on the rise to reach X units for the first time since 2016, thus ending a four-year declining trend. The total import volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% from 2012 to 2021; however, the trend pattern indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Imports peaked at X units in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2021, imports remained at a lower figure.
In value terms, watch imports soared to $X in 2021. Overall, imports recorded a buoyant increase. As a result, imports reached the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.
