In 2020, after six years of growth, there was significant decline in shipments abroad of tyres for buses or lorries, when their volume decreased by -X% to X units. Over the period under review, exports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2012 with an increase of X% y-o-y. Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure at X units in 2019, and then fell markedly in the following year.

In value terms, truck and bus tire exports fell to $X in 2020. Overall, exports, however, saw a resilient increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports hit record highs at $X in 2019, and then contracted in the following year.

Germany (X units), France (X units) and Italy (X units) were the main destinations of truck and bus tire exports from Romania, together accounting for X% of total exports. Poland, Turkey, Spain, Hungary, Mexico, Russia, the Netherlands, Belgium, Switzerland and the UK lagged somewhat behind, together comprising a further X 2007 to 2020, the biggest increases were in Turkey (+X% per year), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Over the period under review, average export prices attained the maximum at $X per unit in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2020, export prices failed to regain the momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Russia ($X per unit), while the average price for exports to Mexico ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Russia, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

Over the period under review, imports attained the maximum at X units in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, imports remained at a lower figure.
