Italy (+46 p.p.), Norway (+7.3 p.p.), Spain (+7 p.p.), South Africa (+3.6 p.p.), Kazakhstan (+3.3 p.p.), Turkey (+2.8 p.p.), Bangladesh (+2.6 p.p.) and Denmark (+1.6 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the global exports, while China and Nigeria saw its share reduced by -5.6% and -11% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Italy ($X) remains the largest shipping supplier from Puerto Rico, comprising 27% of global exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Norway ($X), with an 8.6% share of global exports. It was followed by Turkey, with a 3.2% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in Italy amounted to +10.2%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Norway (+47.1% per year) and Turkey (+65.0% per year).
