Moreover, the Netherlands emerged as the fastest growing exporter in the world, with a CAGR of +X% from 2007-2017. Germany experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2008, when the export prices increased by X% year-to-year. In that year, the export prices for manganese reached their peak level of $X per tonne. From 2009 to 2017, growth of the export prices for manganese stood at a somewhat lower level.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2008, when it surged by -X% against the previous year. Nigeria imports peaked of X tonnes in 2007; however, from 2008 to 2017, it failed to regain its momentum.
In value terms, manganese imports amounted to $X in 2017. In general, manganese imports continue to indicate a drastic decline. Over the period under review, the manganese imports reached its maximum level of $X in 2009; however, from 2010 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.
Manganese Imports by Country into Nigeria
The imports of the five major importers of manganese, namely South Korea, India, Japan, Russia and Germany, represented more than two-thirds of total import. The U.S. (X tonnes) ranks second in terms of the global imports with a X% share, followed by the Netherlands (X%). Austria (X tonnes), Brazil (X tonnes), Taiwan, Chinese (X tonnes), Belgium (X tonnes) and France (X tonnes) held the slight share of total imports.

In value terms, the largest manganese markets worldwide were South Korea ($X), Japan ($X) and Russia ($X), with a combined X% share of total imports.

Nigeria import price peaked of $X per tonne in 2011; however, from 2012 to 2017, it stood at a somewhat lower level.
