Files And Rasps Market Size in the Middle East

The Middle Eastern files and rasps market declined remarkably to $X in 2022, with a decrease of -15.5% against the previous year. The total consumption indicated a moderate increase from 2012 to 2022: its value increased at an average annual rate of +3.6% over the last decade. In value terms, files and rasps exports rose slightly to $X in 2022. In general, exports saw notable growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when exports increased by 64%. The level of export peaked at $X in 2020; however, from 2021 to 2022, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

The United Arab Emirates was the main exporter of files, rasps and similar tools in the Middle East, with the volume of exports accounting for X units, which was near 83% of total exports in 2022. It was distantly followed by Turkey (X units), creating a 13% share of total exports. Bahrain (X units) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2022, average annual rates of growth with regard to files and rasps exports from the United Arab Emirates stood at +7.9%. In value terms, the United Arab Emirates ($X), Turkey ($X) and Bahrain ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2022, together comprising 94% of total exports.

Bahrain, with a CAGR of +37.7%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of exports, among the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the exports figures.

Export Prices by Country

In 2022, the export price in the Middle East amounted to $X per unit, reducing by -55.6% against the previous year. Overall, the export price showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 when the export price increased by 196% against the previous year. As a result, the export price reached the peak level of $X per unit, and then shrank sharply in the following year.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2022, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per unit), while the United Arab Emirates ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by the United Arab Emirates (+5.2%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in the Middle East

After two years of growth, overseas purchases of files, rasps and similar tools decreased by -14.5% to X units in 2022. In general, imports showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2021 with an increase of 50%. The volume of import peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, files and rasps imports dropped to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a mild shrinkage. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2013 with an increase of 27% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

Imports by Country

The United Arab Emirates was the largest importer of files, rasps and similar tools in the Middle East, with the volume of imports finishing at X units, which was approx. 52% of total imports in 2022. Turkey (X units) took a 27% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Iraq (8.8%). The following importers - Israel (X units), Iran (X units), Oman (X units) and Bahrain (X units) - each reached a 7.6% share of total imports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Oman (with a CAGR of +21.9%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest files and rasps importing markets in the Middle East were the United Arab Emirates ($X), Turkey ($X) and Iraq ($X), together accounting for 84% of total imports. These countries were followed by Israel, Iran, Oman and Bahrain, which together accounted for a further 11%.

In terms of the main importing countries, Oman, with a CAGR of +16.9%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Import Prices by Country

The import price in the Middle East stood at $X per unit in 2022, surging by 2% against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, saw a slight decline. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2014 an increase of 25%. As a result, import price reached the peak level of $X per unit. From 2015 to 2022, the import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Israel ($X per unit), while Iraq ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2022, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Iran (+12.3%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
