Brazil was the key exporter of crude petroleum oil in MERCOSUR, with the volume of exports finishing at X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2022. Guyana (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with an X% share, followed by Colombia (X%), Ecuador (X%) and Venezuela (X%). Argentina (X tons) took a minor share of total exports.

In value terms, crude oil imports skyrocketed to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports, however, showed a perceptible reduction.
