The volume of export peaked at X units in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2023, the exports remained at a lower figure.

Israel dominates exports structure, resulting at X units, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. Morocco (X units), Tunisia (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units) held a relatively small share of total exports.

Exports from Israel increased at an average annual rate of X% from 2012 to 2023. At the same time, Morocco (X%), Tunisia (X%) and the United Arab Emirates (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Morocco emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in MENA, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Morocco (X p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total exports, while Israel saw its share reduced by X% from 2012 to 2023, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In value terms, Israel ($X) remains the largest electronic chip supplier in MENA, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was held by Morocco ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by the United Arab Emirates, with a X% share.

After three years of growth, overseas purchases of electronic chips decreased by X% to X units in 2023. Over the period under review, imports, however, continue to indicate a buoyant increase. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2020 with an increase of X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure at X units in 2022, and then shrank in the following year.

The countries with the highest levels of electronic chip imports in 2023 were Israel (X units), Tunisia (X units), Turkey (X units) and the United Arab Emirates (X units), together amounting to X% of total import. Egypt (X units) ranks next in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Iran (X%).

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the leading importing countries, was attained by Egypt (with a CAGR of X%), while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Israel ($X), Turkey ($X) and the United Arab Emirates ($X) appeared to be the countries with the highest levels of imports in 2023, together accounting for X% of total imports. Tunisia, Egypt and Iran lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X%.

Egypt, with a CAGR of X%, saw the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, among the main importing countries over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in MENA stood at $X per unit in 2023, remaining stable against the previous year. In general, the import price, however, recorded a perceptible shrinkage. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 an increase of X% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per unit in 2016; however, from 2017 to 2023, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2023, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Turkey ($X per unit), while Iran ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2023, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Tunisia (X%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the import price figures.
