Shampoo Market Size in Kazakhstan

In 2020, after three years of growth, there was significant decline in the Kazakh shampoo market, when its value decreased by -X% to $X. Overall, consumption, however, continues to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012 when the market value increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, exports attained the peak figure at X tonnes in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2020, exports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, shampoo exports stood at $X in 2020. Over the period under review, exports saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2009 when exports increased by X% y-o-y. Exports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, exports failed to regain the momentum.

Kyrgyzstan (X tonnes), Tajikistan (X tonnes) and Russia (X tonnes) were the main destinations of shampoo exports from Kazakhstan, together comprising X% of total exports. Turkmenistan lagged somewhat behind, accounting for a further X 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of shipments, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by Turkmenistan (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Kyrgyzstan ($X) remains the key foreign market for shampoo exports from Kazakhstan, comprising X% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by Tajikistan ($X), with a X% share of total exports. It was followed by Russia, with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Kyrgyzstan amounted to +X%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Tajikistan (+X% per year) and Russia (+X% per year).

In 2020, the average shampoo export price amounted to $X per tonne, which is down by -X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export price showed a pronounced contraction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 when the average export price increased by X% year-to-year. As a result, export price attained the peak level of $X per tonne. From 2010 to 2020, the growth in terms of the average export prices failed to regain the momentum.

Prices varied noticeably by the country of destination; the country with the highest price was Turkmenistan ($X per tonne), while the average price for exports to Russia ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2020, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was recorded for supplies to Turkmenistan, while the prices for the other major destinations experienced a decline.

In 2020, after four years of growth, there was significant decline in overseas purchases of shampoos, when their volume decreased by -X% to X tonnes. Overall, imports, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2012 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tonnes in 2019, and then contracted remarkably in the following year.

In value terms, shampoo imports fell sharply to $X in 2020. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2012 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2020, imports failed to regain the momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2020, Russia (X tonnes) constituted the largest shampoo supplier to Kazakhstan, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, shampoo imports from Russia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Romania (X tonnes), threefold. Belarus (X tonnes) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2020, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Russia totaled +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Romania (+X% per year) and Belarus (+X% per year).

The import price peaked at $X per tonne in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2020, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major supplying countries. In 2020, the country with the highest price was France ($X per tonne), while the price for Belarus ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.
