Bottled Water Market Size in India

The revenue of the bottled water market in India amounted to $X in 2018, dropping by -X% against the previous year. Overall, bottled water consumption continues to indicate a moderate decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 with an increase of X% against the previous year. The U.S. (X litres), Nepal (X litres) and Namibia (X litres) were the main destinations of bottled water exports from India, with a combined X% share of total exports. Yemen, China, Singapore, Bahrain, Canada, the United Arab Emirates, France, Maldives and Nigeria lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of exports, amongst the main countries of destination, was attained by China (+X% per year), while exports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Bottled water imports into India stood at X litres in 2018, going up by X% against the previous year. Overall, bottled water imports continue to indicate a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by X% year-to-year. Over the period under review, bottled water imports reached their maximum in 2018 and are expected to retain its growth in the near future.

The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2016 with an increase of X% y-o-y. In 2018, Malaysia (X litres) constituted the largest supplier of bottled water to India, with a X% share of total imports. Moreover, bottled water imports from Malaysia exceeded the figures recorded by the second-largest supplier, Bhutan (X litres), threefold. France (X litres) ranked third in terms of total imports with a X% share.

From 2007 to 2018, the average annual rate of growth in terms of volume from Malaysia stood at +X%. The remaining supplying countries recorded the following average annual rates of imports growth: Bhutan (+X% per year) and France (-X% per year).

In value terms, Bhutan ($X) constituted the largest supplier of bottled water to India, comprising X% of total bottled water imports. The second position in the ranking was occupied by France ($X), with a X% share of total imports. It was followed by Italy, with a X% share.

In 2018, the average bottled water import price amounted to $X per litre, jumping by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the import price indicated significant growth from 2007 to 2018: its price increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, bottled water import price decreased by -X% against 2016 indices. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2011 an increase of X% year-to-year.
