Paint And Varnish Market Size in Hungary

The value of the paint and varnish market in Hungary dropped modestly to $X in 2018, reducing by -X% against the previous year. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Exports by Country

In 2018, Germany (X tonnes), distantly followed by the U.S. (X tonnes), Italy (X tonnes), Japan (X tonnes), the Netherlands (X tonnes), France (X tonnes) and the UK (X tonnes) represented the main exporters of paints and varnishes, together constituting X% of total exports. Spain (X tonnes), China (X tonnes), Poland (X tonnes), Belgium (X tonnes) and Sweden (X tonnes) took a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2007 to 2018, the biggest increases were in Poland, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, the largest paint and varnish supplying countries from Hungary were Germany ($X), the U.S. ($X) and Italy ($X), together comprising X% of total exports. Japan, the Netherlands, France, the UK, Belgium, Spain, China, Sweden and Poland lagged somewhat behind, together accounting for a further X terms of the main exporting countries, Poland recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The paint and varnish export price in Hungary stood at $X per tonne in 2018, going down by -X% against the previous year. Overall, the paint and varnish export price, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2009 when the export price increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices for paints and varnishes hit record highs at $X per tonne in 2014; however, from 2015 to 2018, export prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2018, the country with the highest price was the U.S. ($X per tonne), while Poland ($X per tonne) was amongst the lowest.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by China, while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2018, the amount of paints and varnishes imported into Hungary amounted to X tonnes, remaining relatively unchanged against the year before. Over the period under review, the total imports indicated mild growth from 2007 to 2018: its volume increased at an average annual rate of +X% over the last eleven-year period. The trend pattern, however, indicated some noticeable fluctuations being recorded throughout the analyzed period. Based on 2018 figures, paint and varnish imports increased by +X% against 2011 indices. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2011 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The purchases of the twelve major importers of paints and varnishes, namely Germany, Canada, the UK, Poland, France, China, Russia, South Korea, Belgium, the Netherlands, Spain and Mexico, represented more than third of total import.

From 2007 to 2018, the most notable rate of growth in terms of purchases, amongst the key importing countries, was attained by Mexico, while imports for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
