In 2023, overseas shipments of refractory bricks, blocks and tiles decreased by X% to X tons for the first time since 2019, thus ending a three-year rising trend. Overall, exports, however, recorded a remarkable increase. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of X tons. From 2018 to 2023, the growth of the exports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, refractory bricks, blocks and tiles exports expanded modestly to $X in 2023. Over the period under review, exports, however, saw a strong expansion. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by X% against the previous year. As a result, the exports reached the peak of $X. From 2018 to 2023, the growth of the exports remained at a lower figure.

Exports by Country

The United Arab Emirates prevails in exports structure, reaching X tons, which was approx. X% of total exports in 2023. It was distantly followed by Saudi Arabia (X tons), making up a X% share of total exports. Oman (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2023, average annual rates of growth with regard to refractory bricks, blocks and tiles exports from the United Arab Emirates stood at X%. At the same time, Oman (X%) and Saudi Arabia (X%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Oman emerged as the fastest-growing exporter exported in GCC, with a CAGR of X% from 2012-2023. Overall, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, refractory bricks, blocks and tiles imports surged to $X in 2023. In general, imports, however, continue to indicate a perceptible slump. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when imports increased by X%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2023, imports failed to regain momentum.

Imports by Country

In 2023, the United Arab Emirates (X tons) was the key importer of refractory bricks, blocks and tiles, comprising X% of total imports. Saudi Arabia (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a X% share, followed by Oman (X%), Bahrain (X%), Qatar (X%) and Kuwait (X%).
