From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value to Belgium totaled +15.8%. Exports to the other major destinations recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Spain (-22.8% per year) and Luxembourg (+8.7% per year).

Over the period under review, imports reached the maximum at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.
In value terms, preserved asparagus imports fell to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports continue to indicate a noticeable curtailment. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2014 when imports increased by 13%. As a result, imports reached the peak of $X. From 2015 to 2021, the growth of imports remained at a somewhat lower figure.

Peru (X tons), China (X tons) and Spain (X tons) were the main suppliers of preserved asparagus imports to France, together accounting for 79% of total imports. These countries were followed by the Netherlands and Germany, which together accounted for a further 19%.
