In 2021, after five years of growth, there was significant decline in the Europe loudspeaker market, when its value decreased by -5.3% to $X. Overall, consumption saw mild growth. As a result, consumption reached the peak level of $X, and then fell in the following year.

In value terms, loudspeaker production declined modestly to $X in 2021 estimated in export price. Overall, production, however, recorded a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when the production volume increased by 5.5%. For the sixth consecutive year, Europe recorded growth in overseas shipments of single loudspeakers (in enclosure), which increased by 56% to X units in 2021. Over the period under review, exports recorded a significant expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 when exports increased by 86% against the previous year. The volume of export peaked in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

In value terms, loudspeaker exports rose to $X in 2021. Overall, exports recorded a prominent expansion. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when exports increased by 45%. Over the period under review, the exports hit record highs in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.

The biggest shipments were from Germany (X units), the Netherlands (X units) and Belgium (X units), together resulting at 67% of total export. It was distantly followed by Poland (X units) and France (X units), together creating a 15% share of total exports. The following exporters - Spain (X units) and the Czech Republic (X units) - each resulted at a 6.1% share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Poland (with a CAGR of +44.7%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In value terms, Germany ($X), the Netherlands ($X) and Belgium ($X) were the countries with the highest levels of exports in 2021, with a combined 56% share of total exports. These countries were followed by France, Poland, the Czech Republic and Spain, which together accounted for a further 18%.

Poland, with a CAGR of +36.0%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of exports, in terms of the main exporting countries over the period under review, while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

Export Prices by Country

The export price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, waning by -32.6% against the previous year. In general, the export price recorded a deep setback. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when the export price increased by 16% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the export prices reached the peak figure at $X per unit in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

Prices varied noticeably country of origin: the country with the highest price was the Czech Republic ($X per unit), while Belgium ($X per unit) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Spain (-2.0%), while the other leaders experienced a decline in the export price figures.

In 2021, supplies from abroad of single loudspeakers (in enclosure) increased by 17% to X units, rising for the fifth year in a row after two years of decline. In general, imports continue to indicate a perceptible increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 104% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports reached the peak figure in 2021 and are likely to see steady growth in years to come.

The following importers - Slovakia (X units), Poland (X units), the Czech Republic (X units), Austria (X units), Italy (X units) and Russia (X units) - together made up 18% of total imports.

The Netherlands (+7.5 p.p.), Belgium (+4.2 p.p.), France (+4 p.p.), Spain (+3.9 p.p.), Slovakia (+3.4 p.p.), Poland (+2.6 p.p.), the Czech Republic (+2.1 p.p.), Hungary (+2.1 p.p.) and Italy (+1.7 p.p.) significantly strengthened its position in terms of the total imports, while Germany saw its share reduced by -35.6% from 2012 to 2021, respectively. The shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

In terms of the main importing countries, Italy, with a CAGR of +16.3%, recorded the highest rates of growth with regard to the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

The import price in Europe stood at $X per unit in 2021, with a decrease of -12.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, recorded a mild expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2015 when the import price increased by 104%. Over the period under review, import prices hit record highs at $X per unit in 2018; however, from 2019 to 2021, import prices stood at a somewhat lower figure.
