In 2022, Greece (X tons), distantly followed by the Netherlands (X tons) and Germany (X tons) represented the key exporters of dried grapes, together creating 63% of total exports. Belgium (X tons), Austria (X tons), the UK (X tons), Lithuania (X tons), Spain (X tons), Slovakia (X tons), France (X tons), Russia (X tons), Italy (X tons) and Sweden (X tons) held a relatively small share of total exports.

From 2012 to 2022, the biggest increases were recorded for Russia (with a CAGR of +21.1%), while shipments for the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

From 2014 to 2022, the growth of imports remained at a lower figure.

In value terms, dried grapes imports shrank to $X in 2022. Over the period under review, imports saw a noticeable reduction. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 9.1%. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2022, imports remained at a lower figure.

The purchases of the three major importers of dried grapes, namely the UK, Germany and the Netherlands, represented more than half of total import. It was distantly followed by France (X tons) and Italy (X tons), together committing a 12% share of total imports. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2018 an increase of 12% against the previous year. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2022, import prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2022, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Sweden ($X per ton), while Ukraine ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.
