Spain (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total exports with a 16% share, followed by Germany (12%), Belgium (11%) and France (5.3%). Austria (X tons), Cyprus (X tons) and Poland (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, average annual rates of growth with regard to grapefruit juice (single strength) exports from the Netherlands stood at -1.7%. At the same time, Spain (+17.9%), France (+4.3%) and Poland (+3.7%) displayed positive paces of growth. The second position in the ranking was taken by Belgium ($X), with a 13% share of total exports. It was followed by Germany, with a 13% share.

From 2012 to 2021, the average annual rate of growth in terms of value in the Netherlands totaled +1.7%. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Belgium (-4.2% per year) and Germany (-0.4% per year).

In 2021, the export price in the European Union amounted to $X per ton, growing by 6.1% against the previous year. Over the last nine-year period, it increased at an average annual rate of +2.8%. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 an increase of 13%. Over the period under review, the export prices hit record highs in 2021 and is expected to retain growth in the near future.

Prices varied noticeably by country of origin: amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was France ($X per ton), while Cyprus ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Belgium (+5.8%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.

In 2021, the amount of grapefruit juice (single strength) imported in the European Union shrank to X tons, with a decrease of -7.1% against the year before. Overall, imports saw a pronounced contraction. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2020 with an increase of 22%. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports failed to regain momentum.

In value terms, grapefruit juice (single strength) imports shrank dramatically to $X in 2021. In general, imports continue to indicate a perceptible decline. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 9.8%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2012; however, from 2013 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

The Netherlands represented the main importing country with an import of around X tons, which recorded 40% of total imports. France (X tons) ranks second in terms of the total imports with a 23% share, followed by Belgium (19%) and Germany (7.6%). Italy (X tons) followed a long way behind the leaders.

From 2012 to 2021, the biggest increases were recorded for Italy (with a CAGR of +0.4%), while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

Among the main importing countries, Italy, with a CAGR of +2.3%, recorded the highest growth rate of the value of imports, over the period under review, while purchases for the other leaders experienced a decline in the imports figures.

The import price in the European Union stood at $X per ton in 2021, reducing by -9.1% against the previous year. Overall, the import price, however, showed a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2018 when the import price increased by 22%. The level of import peaked at $X per ton in 2019; however, from 2020 to 2021, import prices remained at a lower figure.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major importing countries. In 2021, amid the top importers, the country with the highest price was Italy ($X per ton), while Belgium ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Italy (+1.9%), while the other leaders experienced more modest paces of growth.
