Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 when imports increased by X% against the previous year. Over the period under review, imports hit record highs at X tons in 2022, and then declined slightly in the following year.

In value terms, fresh fish fillet imports reached $X in 2023. Overall, imports, however, enjoyed a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2018 when imports increased by X%. The level of import peaked in 2023 and is expected to retain growth in years to come.

Poland represented the major importer of fresh or chilled fish fillets in Eastern Europe, with the volume of imports amounting to X tons, which was approx. X% of total imports in 2023.
