Over the period under review, imports, however, enjoyed a significant increase. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2020 with an increase of 301% against the previous year. As a result, imports reached the peak of X tons, and then shrank significantly in the following year.

In value terms, lithium battery imports contracted markedly to $X in 2021. In general, imports, however, recorded a resilient expansion. The pace of growth was the most pronounced in 2016 when imports increased by 145% against the previous year. Imports peaked at $X in 2020, and then fell notably in the following year.
