In 2021, purchases abroad of sugar increased by 287% to X tons, rising for the third year in a row after six years of decline. In general, imports posted significant growth. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2019 when imports increased by 380%. Imports peaked in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in the immediate term.
