In 2021, shipments abroad of non-electric air heaters or hot air distributors increased by 56% to X tons, rising for the fifth consecutive year after three years of decline. Overall, exports saw prominent growth. As a result, the exports attained the peak and are likely to continue growth in the immediate term.

In value terms, non-electric air heater exports surged to $X in 2021. In general, exports enjoyed strong growth. The pace of growth appeared the most rapid in 2017 with an increase of 36% against the previous year. Over the period under review, the exports attained the maximum in 2021 and are expected to retain growth in years to come.

Russia prevails in exports structure, amounting to X tons, which was near 89% of total exports in 2021. It was distantly followed by Belarus (X tons), generating a 7.6% share of total exports. Kazakhstan (X tons) took a little share of total exports.

Russia was also the fastest-growing in terms of the non-electric air heaters or hot air distributors exports, with a CAGR of +14.8% from 2012 to 2021. Belarus (-2.2%) and Kazakhstan (-12.8%) illustrated a downward trend over the same period. From 2012 to 2021, the share of Russia increased by +33 percentage points.

In value terms, Russia ($X) remains the largest non-electric air heater supplier in the CIS, comprising 82% of total exports. The second position in the ranking was taken by Kazakhstan ($X), with a 10% share of total exports.

In Russia, non-electric air heater exports expanded at an average annual rate of +11.5% over the period from 2012-2021. The remaining exporting countries recorded the following average annual rates of exports growth: Kazakhstan (+3.6% per year) and Belarus (+1.1% per year).

Export Prices by Country

In 2021, the export price in the CIS amounted to $X per ton, waning by -16.4% against the previous year. Overall, the export price, however, saw a relatively flat trend pattern. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2014 when the export price increased by 41% against the previous year. The level of export peaked at $X per ton in 2017; however, from 2018 to 2021, the export prices failed to regain momentum.

There were significant differences in the average prices amongst the major exporting countries. In 2021, amid the top suppliers, the country with the highest price was Kazakhstan ($X per ton), while Russia ($X per ton) was amongst the lowest.

From 2012 to 2021, the most notable rate of growth in terms of prices was attained by Kazakhstan (+18.8%), while the other leaders experienced mixed trends in the export price figures.

Imports in CIS

In 2021, non-electric air heater imports in the CIS soared to X tons, surging by 23% on 2020. In general, imports, however, showed a mild decrease. The most prominent rate of growth was recorded in 2017 with an increase of 31% against the previous year. The volume of import peaked at X tons in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

In value terms, non-electric air heater imports skyrocketed to $X in 2021. Over the period under review, imports, however, recorded a perceptible slump. The growth pace was the most rapid in 2017 when imports increased by 42%. The level of import peaked at $X in 2013; however, from 2014 to 2021, imports stood at a somewhat lower figure.

Imports by Country

Russia represented the main importer of non-electric air heaters or hot air distributors in the CIS, with the volume of imports recording X tons, which was near 70% of total imports in 2021. Kazakhstan (X tons) took a 14% share (based on physical terms) of total imports, which put it in second place, followed by Belarus (11%).

Imports into Russia decreased at an average annual rate of -1.1% from 2012 to 2021. At the same time, Kazakhstan (+6.5%) displayed positive paces of growth. Moreover, Kazakhstan emerged as the fastest-growing importer imported in the CIS, with a CAGR of +6.5% from 2012-2021. Belarus experienced a relatively flat trend pattern. While the share of Kazakhstan (+6.9 p.p.) and Russia (+3.4 p.p.) increased significantly, the shares of the other countries remained relatively stable throughout the analyzed period.

The growth pace was the most rapid in 2014 when the import price increased by 9.6% against the previous year.
